How to layer for fall without looking BULKY
Ok it is time to get out the sweaters, long sleeves, and jackets...but how can we layer without looking BIG in our clothes.
Things You'll Need:
a body sliming tank in a neutral color
a flattering top for your body
A jacket, belero, or cardigan
Step
1
First get a couple of slim fitting tanks from Victoria Secret, lingerie store, or just run into Target and grab some in a pretty neutral color.
Step
2
Now grab that top you have been wanting to wear, (it can be tight, flowing, have a pattern, it can be satin...you choose). Wear a color that compliments your
skin
tone
, we don't always have to pick the color of the month, if it doesn't go with you skin- DON'T BOTHER!
Step
3
Now if you are feeling bulky already due to the new top, place a tighter fitting soft layer on. For instance, if you have a flowing silky top on, now put a soft cashmere cardigan on over it. If it still doesn't flatter your thinnest area...belt it with a small thin belt.
Step
4
If you have put on a top that has a lot of pattern to it, tone it down with a solid layer next and keep the accessories to a minimum ... let the loud top do the talking.
Step
5
Finally, if you have put on a tight fitting top, feel free to throw on almost anything, a bolero, a long trench coat (belted or not), or even a blazer ... don't be afraid of rolling up those sleeves and adding a bangle to insure your feminine look.
Tips & Warnings
Don't ever be afraid to change several times. ..I leave myself a good 30 minutes to change the outfit to get the right look for my mood in the morning. I promise it will make a HUGE but not BULKY difference. GOOD LUCK
